Cameo Kitchens is proud to support the following:
District of Columbia Child and Family Services Agency Cameo Kitchens has made a commitment to 8 needy families through the DC Family and Child Services Agency. We are sending a $100 grocery store gift card to each family every month to help with daily expenses. Our commitment to these families began in March of 2005, and will continue through 2008. In 2004, we sponsored a family over the holidays by purchasing and delivering all of their gifts and their holiday meal. "The families are all very excited about this most generous offer. Cameo Kitchens is the first donor to make this kind of monthly commitment to families in need. I am thrilled to be able to facilitate this kind of service. You already sponsored a family for the holidays, and now you are taking on several families on an ongoing basis. Please accept my sincere thanks." - Nyjeri W., The Office of Volunteer Services, CFSA "I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you on behalf of the women and children who have benefitted from your generosity. I am a Social Worker assigned to the Family Treatment Court Program. This program provides services to woman and children undergoing substance abuse treatment. This program is unique in that the children are placed with their mothers in the treatment facility. The women and children are returned to the community after 6 months of intensive inpatient treatment. I continue to provide case management services and support to the women upon their return to the community. The women's return to the home is sometimes delayed as we work to ensure that there is an adequate food supply in the home.Your vouchers have helped to ensure that there is food in the home." - Rahma M., Social Worker Family Treatment Court Program Cameo Kitchens, Inc. is proud to support the work of Teaching Hope, a recently started non profit based in the Washington, D.C. area. The central purpose and role of Teaching Hope is to enable older orphaned and abandoned children from Colombia to thrive and reach their fullest potential by supporting programs to provide them with vocational training, housing, life-skills counseling and a network of caring adults, guided by the principles of the Convention of the Rights of the Child. Fundacion Nina Maria in Chia, Colombia Foundation Niņa Maria is a non profit organization in Colombia, South America that works for abandoned children, returning childhood to boys, girls and young people who at such young age have suffered mistreatment, neglect, and/or physical and sexual abuse. Today they care for 114 boys and girls ranging from zero to eighteen years old. Cameo Kitchens has sponsored babies at Tutova Hospital's Failure-to-Thrive Unit in Romania.
